According to the local publication «Pepel», at night a Russian serviceman entered the home of the large Larin family in the village of Giryi, Kursk region, under the pretext of checking documents and shot the married couple.
41-year-old Olesya Larina died from gunshot wounds, her husband is in intensive care. The children survived. According to local residents, the serviceman was in an inadequate state — possibly under the influence of drugs.
Previously, the media repeatedly reported on looting and robberies by Russian military in regions bordering Ukraine, as well as fatal accidents involving military personnel under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, at least 20 civilians have already died in accidents caused by the military in the Belgorod region alone, and another 32 were injured, according to the publication «Vot Tak»*. Drivers in uniform are most often fined 2,500 rubles or given suspended sentences, even if the accident resulted in fatalities. In one accident, a soldier in a truck crushed a car with a woman and her 12-year-old daughter, and the investigation recognized him as a «witness».
