Resident of Chita sentenced to 12 years for donations to the Armed Forces of Ukraine

A court in Novosibirsk sentenced 29-year-old resident of Chita, Ekaterina Egorova, to 12 years in prison on charges of "treason." She was accused of financing the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reported "People of Baikal." The penalty for this article provides for imprisonment from 12 to 20 years, and the case was considered in a closed session. In addition to the sentence, Egorova must pay a fine of 200,000 rubles.

The FSB claims that from June 2023 to April 2024, the resident of the Trans-Baikal Territory sent money for the purchase of ammunition and equipment for the Ukrainian army. Under each transfer, she left notes in Ukrainian: "for thermal imagers," "for aerial reconnaissance," "for an anti-drone shield." In court, the woman pleaded guilty.

Ekaterina Egorova was detained in the summer of 2024 when she attempted to leave the country.
