UPD: Pakistan launched a retaliatory missile strike on India, reports local SAMAA TV citing sources

According to the country's Ministry of Defense, last night the Indian armed forces launched Operation 'Sindur', striking 'terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir', from where terrorist attacks against India were planned and directed. As reported by Reuters, according to witnesses, after the explosions in Muzaffarabad, the capital of Pakistani Kashmir, the electricity went out.

According to Indian authorities, as part of the operation called 'Sindur', nine targets were attacked. As noted in the military department's statement, 'these steps followed the barbaric terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which resulted in the deaths of 25 Indians and one Nepali citizen. We fulfill the commitment that those responsible for this attack will be held accountable'. Pakistan denies its involvement in the killings.

The Ministry of Defense of Pakistan confirmed the missile strike from India. As reported by AFP citing Pakistani state television, the strikes hit three regions of the country. A representative of the Pakistani military stated that the country will respond to India's strike. 'Let me say this unequivocally: Pakistan will respond to this at a time and place of its own choosing. This heinous provocation will not go unanswered', said Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry.
