The police detained the daughter of journalist Irina Slavina, Margarita Murakhtaeva, when she brought flowers to the place of her mother's death, she told «Mediazona»**.

According to the girl, she wanted to lay flowers at the building of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs. Five years ago, Irina Slavina committed self-immolation there. On October 1, 2020, a search was conducted at the home of KozaPress founder Irina Slavina in connection with a case regarding an «undesirable organization». The next day, the journalist set herself on fire near the Ministry of Internal Affairs building in the Nizhny Novgorod region, leaving a post on Facebook: «I ask you to blame the Russian Federation for my death».

On the anniversary of her mother's death, the police detained her daughter. «I came [to the Ministry of Internal Affairs building] — there was a fence and a police van. Well, I thought, okay, I'll come, lay the flowers, stand for a bit, and leave. But the police immediately approached me and started asking questions, requesting documents, and taking photos. I asked them in return: "On what grounds?". They told me: "There was an announcement that flowers would be brought on October 1". I was like: "And? Am I doing something illegal?"», Murakhtaeva said.

After that, the girl was taken to city police department No. 5 to explain why she came to the place of her mother's death.
