The governor of the Volgograd region, Andrey Bocharov, confirmed the attack but did not specify which object was hit.
"In the Kotovsky district, as a result of falling UAV debris, the boiler house building was partially damaged. There were also fires on the territory of the fuel and energy complex — currently, fire services that arrived promptly are extinguishing the fire outbreaks," wrote Bocharov.
Astra* and Exilenova+ identified the alleged targets of the attacks based on messages in chats and the NASA fire map. These include the Korobkovsky gas processing plant "Lukoil" in Kotovo and the "Efimovka" oil pumping station ("Transneft") 8 km south of it.
The Korobkovsky gas processing plant is the largest natural gas processor in the Southern Federal District. Its production capacity is 450 million cubic meters of gas raw material per year. A significant portion of the plant's products, particularly liquefied gases and stable gasoline, is intended for export.
The Ministry of Defense reported that nine drones were shot down over the Volgograd region overnight.
Rostov Governor Yuri Slyusar reported that private houses were damaged in the region as a result of the attack in the area of the Rodionovo-Nesvetayskaya settlement (there is also an oil pumping station — "Rodionovskaya").
