He was transferred from the punishment cell to a solitary cell, Kriger insists on returning to the unit, protesting against isolation

Mikhail Kriger's support group reported that on October 9, the 65-year-old activist was transferred from the punishment cell of IK-5 in the Oryol region to a solitary cell. In it, he will be restricted in calls. Kriger insists on returning to the unit.

The colony administration stated that as soon as, in their opinion, Kriger becomes sufficiently unwell, he will be sent to the medical unit for forced feeding. Currently, he is visited by a doctor twice a day. Meanwhile, the next visit from the lawyer will take place on Monday, as it is impossible to enter the colony on weekends.

Kriger had been on a regular hunger strike since September 25, demanding a return to his unit from the punishment cell. The activist had been in isolation since September 9. Kriger was kept in isolation under the pretext of ensuring his safety. Meanwhile, there was no heating in the punishment cell despite the cold outside.

Kriger himself repeatedly stated that nothing threatened him in the colony, and the administration isolated him so that he would not communicate with other convicts.

Mikhail Kriger has been in custody since November 2022. He was sentenced to seven years in a colony on charges of 'calls for extremism' and 'justification of terrorism' due to posts in which he wrote about 'fierce hatred of the regime' and attacks on FSB buildings in Arkhangelsk and Moscow.
