In several areas of Gaza, fierce clashes occurred between Hamas and rival groups following the withdrawal of Israeli troops. A video appeared on social media showing a group of masked militants with green Hamas armbands shooting eight blindfolded people in the back of the head in a square in Gaza City in front of a large crowd.
CNN confirmed the location where the video was filmed, — the al-Sabra district in the western part of Gaza City, — but could not independently verify when the incident occurred.
BBC journalists confirmed the authenticity of the videos, according to their data, the video shows a public execution staged by Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip on the night of October 14. BBC emphasizes that they were unable to identify the masked armed individuals but confirm the location and the fact of the execution.
The «Rada» security forces, associated with Hamas, stated that they «conducted a precise operation in the center of Gaza City, resulting in the neutralization of several wanted individuals and criminals». Hamas's statement claims that the detainees are «criminals and accomplices of Israel», but there is no evidence for this.
According to the BBC, in recent days, dozens of people have died as a result of clashes between Hamas militants and armed members of the Dughmush family — an influential clan in the Gaza Strip.
Commenting on reports of the public shooting in the Gaza Strip, Donald Trump announced the elimination of Hamas «several very, very bad gangs», stating that «we gave them approval for a certain period of time», but «if they (Hamas) do not disarm, we will disarm them».
As writes Times of Israel citing sources in the Gaza Strip, since the ceasefire took effect on Friday, Hamas has killed at least 33 people in a crackdown on groups that questioned its authority, apparently receiving US consent for temporary governance of the devastated enclave.
