In the Stavropol region, a local resident set fire to a military enlistment office in the city of Zelenokumsk at night. The fire was extinguished before the arrival of firefighters, and the woman was detained, TASS reports.
During interrogation, the woman said that she was forced to set the fire by fraudsters, the report does not specify what charges have been brought against the detainee.
Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine and until January of this year, “Mediazona”* recorded 187 arson attacks on military enlistment offices and other objects organized by fraudsters, most of them were committed in 2024. Meanwhile, by 2024, arson attacks organized by phone scammers almost replaced attacks with anti-war motives.
Deceived Russians detained for arson are accused, among other things, of terrorism, with the maximum sentence being 13 years of imprisonment.
