US President Donald Trump will have a phone conversation with Vladimir Putin on Thursday to discuss the war with Ukraine, a source familiar with the situation told Axios.
The conversation will take place a day before Trump receives Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House. Trump and Zelensky will discuss the possibility of supplying Ukraine with long-range Tomahawk missiles.
Last week, Trump stated that during a phone call with Ukrainian President Zelensky on Sunday, he informed him that he might present Putin with a new ultimatum to resume serious peace negotiations, otherwise the US will provide Ukraine with long-range Tomahawk missiles.
Tomahawk missiles would give Ukraine the ability to strike deep into Russia, including Moscow, with the Ukrainian side claiming that this would help force Vladimir Putin to come to the negotiating table.
